Donovan's solid training serves him well in his professional capacities as Assistant Concertmaster of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and Artistic Director/Leader of the Kensington Sinfonia.
Whatever his project, Donovan keeps at heart an inquisitive spirit and a great interest in exploring the many styles of music possible on his instrument: everything from ethnic fiddling traditions, jazz and blues, rock, metal, and other popular styles, to electronic and experimental contemporary music from all over the globe.
